Weekend Rewind
My weekend getaway was exactly what I was hoping for – plus a little bit better. The colors this weekend were absolutely spectacular – maybe one of the prettiest times I have ever seen it. There were sprinklings of bright green, bright yellow, burnt orange, fire reds, and plum purples. It was something straight off of a postcard, and made for one of the most beautiful and scenic drives.
The weekend started off with dinner at our favorite BBQ place in Blowing Rock, followed by a quiet night in the cabin decorating for fall, and reading by the fireplace. The next day was a packed one – full of brunch at our favorite cafe (where I met the cutest kitty – don’t tell Luna), a day of shopping around town picking up fall scented candles and trinkets, a trip to the mast general store, and a quiet dinner with my mom. I spent the remainder of the evening in a cozy new pair of socks and pajamas catching up on some reading, and time with family.
Overall, it was the best weekend, and I am so thankful to have my little retreat in the woods to escape to. It was a quick weekend, but it was full of all of the things that I loved, and I couldn’t have asked for prettier surroundings.
Looks like such a lovely weekend! I’m jealous of all the fall colors, Texas doesn’t seem to get too much of that!
