If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that I’m quite the dress fanatic. I’m all about one piece to throw on and go. Mini, midi, maxi – I don’t discriminate. I just can’t get enough of them. During the spring and summer, I’d say if I’m not in denim cutoffs and a tee, I’m probably wearing a little sundress. For the last several years, dresses in my mind have equated femininity and sophistication.
It wasn’t until I wore this weekend casual look that I realized that even wearing a dress could be tomboy-chic. Just because it’s a dress, doesn’t mean it has to be formal or super chic. It can be comfy, swingy, and made for playing around town. I loved the longer version of this dress I paired with my leather jacket last month, so I enlisted the help of the wonderful team at Anthropologie in Durham to help me recreate the look for spring.
Anthropologie always was the perfect mix of feminine and casual. I love how cool and urban this jacket is – the mix of cargo and denim is genius! What’s more – how cute are the little bow ties on the back? I was swooning at first sight. Paired with this bouncy lightweight dress, I felt like I was ready to go run around the park with the boys! If you can’t tell from the photos, I had the best time hopping around town with Ryan in my kicks and my tomboy chic look!
