My bathroom is one of those rooms that until recently, didn’t get a lot of screen time. While it has a decent amount of space for a rental bathroom, a lot of the fixtures are older and I couldn’t quite see the potential for the space. When saw the color ‘Madeleine‘ from Little Greene Paint, I immediately pictured the retro/vintage lake house-inspired stripes. It’s such a fun pop of color — totally not my norm — but I love the way the space came together.
I kind of can’t believe I was able to pull off painting the stripes myself! I followed a couple of tutorials online (I painted an initial layer of the white paint once I taped off the stripes and then painted the yellow on top). I love how it gives the look of wallpaper without having to invest in additional materials for the project.
The rest of the room was inspired my a piece of art from Nova Scotia that belonged to my dad. I love the rich blues and reds in the painting and decided to go with primary colors for this space. Mixed with a lot of natural materials, it came together really beautifully and is a space I actually enjoy getting ready in every morning.
