Ever since I started this series, I’ve been finding little rainbows more and more frequently. While that may be due to the ridiculous amount of crystal I’ve introduced into my home (I think I have an addiction), it makes me so happy. nonetheless. I’m excited to round up and share a few more things that have made me smile over the last couple of weeks.. I hope you enjoy this week’s Finding Joy.

Reality has set in, and it’s safe to say that we won’t be vacationing on a beach any time soon. We made the decision that we would take our vacation funds for this summer and instead of spending them on plane tickets, we’re going to turn our back porch into an oasis right at home! We’re redoing a little corner of our patio to be completely resort-inspired (think these vibes) with a lounger, palm trees, and of course a bar cart with margaritas! We’re putting it on our calendar for this summer, and will pack and pretend we’re on vacation in our own home. No chores allowed that weekend! I’m actually so excited for it.

I had a lovely follower, and Raleigh local, reach out to me and introduce me to her amazing business! She just launched her Etsy shop selling these stunning resin coasters and I’m so in love. I think they are so unique and are basically like a work of art to keep on your coffee table or nightstand. I’m all about making the little things in life beautiful, and this definitely fits that bill! I have this set on its way to me and I can’t wait to style them in my home. Also, so thankful for meeting amazingly talented people like Heena. PS. If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day gift, she has some beautiful options.

I read this article from Elle the other day and it literally made me lol. Part of me loves how much we can embrace this new reality of ours in positive ways. According to the article, your “morning” pajamas should be shapeless, oversized, and comfortable. Think Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. “Nightime” pajamas, however, are where you should have a little fun and get dolled up, embracing your inner Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30. Seriously, give it a read if you need a laugh. If you find yourself wanting to expand your lounge collection afterwards, you can find my loungewear picks here.

I go through a major green-thumb phase at the beginning of every spring, but I feel like this year is my best year yet! I have lemons growing, hopefully a few olives budding, and my herb garden is flourishing. We even planted some tomatoes and peppers this year. Watering and tending to my garden is one of my favorite quiet moments of the day. It’s also SO convenient to have fresh herbs on hand for all the recipes I’ve been trying. Even if you can only plant an herb or two (we were able to grab ours at Trader Joes to plant while on a grocery run), give it a try! It’s super therapeutic. I plant ours in these pots, but I love the idea of upgrading to these or doing a DIY version eventually. Sharing some of my favorite garden supplies below to get you started!

I mentioned on my Instagram the other day that I’ve had a major craving for comfort foods lately – and I’m not mad about it! I’ve made a boxed mac and cheese (so good) and homemade pizza in the last week. We’re making pizza again tomorrow for date night and it’s basically the highlight of my week. A lot of you responded and seem to be going through the same thing. Someone mentioned their comfort food is tacos – which inspired me to whip up some chickpea ones this weekend. I’ll share if they turn out well – stay tuned!

Last but not least, I tried out something new last night! I’ve been burning through my usual candles in no time, so I decided to try my hand at making a few. I made my first two last night and they look like candles, but I still need work figuring out how much scent to add. Regardless, they make me so happy! It’s always fun to learn a new skill just because – and I’m not mad about having an endless supply of candles on hand. I’ll share the items I ordered off of Amazon below if you want to give it a try! I’m definitely not a pro at it, but I’m having a lot of fun experimenting so far!
That’s it for this week – I hope you enjoyed and feel encouraged to find your own little bits of joy! x
