Ever since watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Roman Holiday for the first time, I became captivated with Audrey Hepburn’s effortlessly chic style. Each trench, sweater, dress, and trouser was so feminine and perfect – she immediately became my style icon. Whether she was ultra-sleek in head to toe black, or angelic in all white, her look was always something that those of her time, and those since, have attempted to replicate.
When I initially fell in love with Audrey’s style, I bought my first trench in beige. It was (and still is) one of the most perfect, versatile, well-loved pieces in my wardrobe. I used to think that the ‘classics’ had to be neutral colors – I would always buy things in black, white, beige, or grey, so that I could ensure they would stand the test of time, and last through every trend. But when I received this burnt orange Pendleton trench from my mom, I realized that a classic piece can, and should, add a little pop of color and peronsonality to my look.
Needless to say, I’m completely in love. It’s definitely a statement piece on its own, so I paired it with faux leather leggings and a white ruffle neck tunic for a rainy day out. I couldn’t have felt like I was embracing my inner Audrey more. Be sure to head over to Nordstrom to check out the coat (it’s on sale for less than $200), as well as their half-yearly sale that’s going on now! There are so many amazing coats and accessories on sale!
